Fire Incident

posted Apr 24, 2016, 4:20 PM by David Dahlem
On Friday April 22 at approx. 5:30 pm the Pike Lake Fire Dept. attended to an area west of the Park maintenance building regarding a bush fire. The fire was in an area where Parks Staff had burnt old trees and bush in December. They had recently piled more trees, bush and leaves there. The high winds on Friday rekindled the smouldering ash under the pile. A backhoe was used to bury the burn and put it out. This is the second incident recently in the Delisle Pike Lake area started in this way. A good reminder to be sure fires in your fire pits are properly out. Thanks to the Pike Lake Fire Dept. for their fast and effective response.
