Lake Cleanup - June 21st

posted Jun 13, 2014, 11:59 AM by David Dahlem
Earlier Information regarding our annual Shoreline Clean Up stated that it was scheduled for this Saturday, June 14.  However, due to a conflict with a triathlon in the water at the same time, the Clean Up is postponed to the following Saturday, June 21.

Day:       SATURDAY, JUNE 21
Time:      9:00 AM  - 12:00 noon.  Volunteers to meet at the Boat Launch at 9:00 AM

1. If you want some help in clearing unwanted debris from your shoreline, please call Dan S. at  306 250 8866or Max A. at 306 373 0067. A crew will come to help you sometime during the morning.

2. If you have unwanted materials around your yard and want to dispose of them, take them to the boat launch from 9:00 AM to 12 noon. Brian Dressler, Park Supervisor, will arrange a Lorass bin there to take such materials. If you are unable to transport them, call and a crew, if available, may be able to come by and take them.   Items not permitted in the bin are: ( Hazardous materials: paint and paint cans, solvents, other chemicals), batteries, creosote-treated materials, tires, and wire.

We will try this approach and see how it works. Brian shares that they use the bin idea at his community at Blackstrap and it works well. Thanks to Brian and the Park for covering the cost of the Loraas bin.

Lunch for volunteers:     12:00 noon, hosted at Sandy and Jack Comeau's Cottage (#69)
