Original:
Valley Road Resurfacing  is to start on Monday, August 8th. The first phase of the 3 year project is the resurfacing of a 4.6 km stretch starting at the city limits and ending 400m north of Merrill School Road. (at the access to Robertson Valley Farm). This stretch is to receive a 1 inch overlay. We have been told by the contractor (ASL Paving) that the project is to start in the south (in front of Robertson Valley Farm) and proceed north. During the resurfacing of the first part (from Robertson Valley Farm to Hodgson Road) a detour will be in effect along Merrill School Road to Carmart Road to Hodgson Road. During resurfacing of the remainder, the detour will be along Hodgson Road to Carmart Road then to the east past Cedar Villa. Access during construction will be given to residents and customers of businesses affected by the the resurfacing. There will be a flag person at each end of the construction zone and signage will be in place. The RM will be grading the gravel road portions of the detour routes at 5:30 am each morning. The project is expected to last 10 business days, weather permitting. ASL has advised the RM that their working hours will be 7am to 7pm, and that they will usually work Saturdays. We appreciate that their will be some inconvenience to residents and business owners. The work needs to be done to preserve the road for at least the next 15 years. If problems develop, please feel free to contact me. Attached is a copy of the correspondence sent out by the RM to some of the ratepayers most affected by the project
Have a great summer
